BRIGHTON, Mich. – Three people were taken into custody after a high-speed chase through Brighton on Sunday, Dec. 15.
According to authorities, a Livingston County Sheriff’s deputy was driving on I-96 near Grand River Avenue when he spotted a vehicle that was reported stolen from East Lansing. The stolen vehicle took off and sped down I-96, allegedly reaching speeds over 120 mph.
The stolen vehicle stopped near Mason Road in Howell, where it drove off the freeway to avoid stopsticks. The three occupants -- who were allegedly armed with handguns -- were taken into custody.

A 24-year-old from Lansing is expected to be charged with fleeing and eluding, possession of a stolen vehicle, carrying a concealed weapon and operating while intoxicated.
A 19-year-old and a 20-year-old are expected to be charged with carrying a concealed weapon.
