PORT HURON, Mich. – Police arrested a Port Huron man following a series of thefts throughout St. Clair County, including multiple reports of breaking and entering into storage units, copper wiring thefts and stolen property taken from residential doorsteps.
Police searched a home in the 800 block of Garfield Street in Port Huron on Dec. 17, 2024, and found a “substantial” amount of stolen property worth over $50,000. Investigators also found about six ounces of crystal methamphetamine inside the home.

William Kenneth Evenson, 54, was arrested in connection to the crimes.
Authorities are working to identify and return the recovered property to its rightful owners.

Evenson was arraigned on Dec. 18, 2024, on charges of Breaking and Entering a Building with Intent, Stolen Property – Receiving and Concealing ($1,000-$20,000), and Controlled Substance – Possession of Methamphetamine.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 30, 2024, for a probable cause conference.
