How deadly crash in Macomb County led to woman allegedly biting officer

WARREN, Mich. – A 27-year-old woman has been charged with a felony after she reportedly bit a Warren police officer who was checking her for injuries.

According to authorities, police were called to the intersection of Mound and Chicago roads on Saturday, Dec. 21, on reports of a crash involving a Ford Escape and a Chevrolet Silverado. When an officer approached the Escape, it was reportedly empty. Witnesses directed the officer to a woman on the sidewalk, claiming she was the driver and was drunk.

When the officer approached the woman to check for injuries, she reportedly resisted and bit the officer.

The driver of the Silverado -- identified as 69-year-old Christopher Andelean -- died from his injuries in the crash.

Diamond Leann Glenn, a resident of Harrison Township, was taken into custody and charged with assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer. Authorities said there may be additional charges after Warren police finish its investigation.

Glenn’s bond was set at $100,000 cash. Her probable cause hearing is scheduled for Jan. 2.
