A triple shooting on Christmas Eve in Oxford left one person dead and two others injured.
The Oakland County Sheriff called this terrifying situation random.
The shooting happened at around 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 24, 2024, on Ray Road between Lapeer and N. Oxford roads. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found three people with gunshot wounds.

Police said Robert Cavanaugh, 60, was beaten to death on Dec. 24, 2024, near the 26000 block of Dequindre.
Cavanaugh, who lived in a Madison Heights mobile home park, was known for rescuing animals. His family said he died tying to save a dog that was being abused by its owner on Christmas Eve.
