Police investigating double homicide, child abduction at Northfield Township home

Suspects arrested, children found safe

WASHTENAW COUNTY, Mich. – Two people were shot and killed at a home in Northfield Township Wednesday evening, and the suspects allegedly abducted two children from the home.

The shooting happened at a home on Nollar Bend Road near US-23 and North Territorial Road on Jan. 1, 2025, at around 8:30 p.m.

Sources told Local 4 that the shooting stemmed from a child custody issue. A child was removed from someone’s care and taken to the home in Northfield Township.

Three people allegedly went to the home in Northfield Township to get the child back.

Two people who were caring for the child at the home were shot and killed. Another person was shot and was critically injured.

The suspects allegedly took two children, ages 7 and 4; one of the children was part of the custody issue and was under foster care.

Three suspects were eventually arrested. The children were found and are being evaluated at a local hospital. Sources said the weapons used in the murder were also recovered.
