WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – A 77-year-old Wayne County man was thrilled after he won $100,000 playing one of his favorite lottery games.

The man, who decided to stay anonymous, won the prize by playing the Michigan Lottery’s Football Payout online instant game.

“I play Lottery games in-store and online, and Football Payout is one of the online games I play often,” said the player. “When the prize of $100,000 came up on the screen while I was playing, I was thrilled! I haven’t told anyone about my big win yet because I’m still trying to wrap my head around it.”

The lucky player recently claimed his prize and said that with his winnings he plans to do something nice for his family and then save the rest, according to Michigan Lottery officials.

There are more than 200 online games, with prices per play ranging from five cents to $50. Since they were launched in 2014, more than a million players have registered.
