PITTSFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A 26-year-old Ann Arbor woman died after being struck by two cars Monday evening, officials said.

At 6:13 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 6, 2025, Pittsfield Township police and fire officials responded to Carpenter Road, south of Packard Road, after receiving a report of a crash involving a pedestrian.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a pedestrian “was crossing Carpenter Road from east to west in a crosswalk against a red do not cross signal," authorities said.

A car heading southbound on Carpenter Road, with a green signal, struck the pedestrian. After being struck by the first vehicle, the 26-year-old was hit by a second car.

She was taken to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries.

The drivers of both vehicles stopped and cooperated with the investigation. Neither driver was injured.

Speed and reckless driving don’t appear to be factors. Drug and alcohol use is under investigation, but hasn’t been determined at this time, according to authorities.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the Pittsfield Township Police Department at 734-822-4958.
