Teen brothers arrested, charged with attempted murder in Pontiac shooting

Ghost gun believed to be used recovered

PONTIAC, Mich. – Two teen brothers were arrested and charged in connection with the shooting of a 29-year-old man in Pontiac.

The shooting happened Dec. 12, 2024, in the parking lot of an apartment complex near the intersection of Auburn Avenue and Clifford Street. Authorities said it was a large crime scene with multiple vehicles and apartment units hit by gunfire.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said Terrell Norton, 19, was taken into custody Thursday, Jan. 9, at a home in Pontiac and his brother, 18-year-old Kentrell Norton, was arrested Friday, Jan. 10, after a foot chase in Orion Township.

Each brother was charged with 11 felonies -- four counts of assault with intent to murder, discharging a firearm in a building causing injury, carrying a concealed weapon and five counts of possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

During the arrests, police said they recovered a ghost gun with no serial number they believe was used in the shooting and clothing worn during the shooting.
