DETROIT – The 2025 Detroit Auto Show is here!
After being held in September for the past two years, the show has returned to its January show dates at Huntington Place.
As visitors make their way to see vehicles from major automakers, rare specialty cars, the Ferrari Modena Spyder California from the 1986 film, “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” and more, here’s a list of restaurants to check out while you’re in the city.
The Apparatus Room
The Apparatus Room is located at 250 W. Larned Street inside the Foundation Hotel. It offers visitors a New American cuisine, craft cocktails and an extensive wine list. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Anita’s Kitchen Detroit
Anita’s Kitchen Detroit is a fast-casual restaurant located at 150 W. Jefferson Avenue that offers Lebanese options for salads, sandwiches, and bowls. It’s open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, and its flagship restaurant is located in Ferndale.
Buddy’s Pizza
Take the opportunity to get some Detroit-style pizza in its birthplace. There are several Buddy’s locations across Metro Detroit, with one in downtown Detroit at 1565 Broadway Street. It’s open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
There are also several other fan favorites when it comes to Detroit-style pizza in Detroit, including Michigan & Trumbull, Grandma Bob’s, Jet’s Pizza, Shield’s Pizza and Pie Sci.

Checker Bar Detroit
Head to Checker Bar for a casual environment with classic burgers, pizza and other bar food. It’s located at 124 Cadillac Square and offers a happy hour from 4-6 p.m. on weekdays. The kitchen is open late and the bar has vintage arcade games.
Dime Store
The popular Dime Store is located at 719 Griswold Street, inside the Chrysler House, and offers brunch all day. It also offers a full bar and is open daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday through Tuesday.
Hiroki San
Hiroki San is a fine dining restaurant that offers Japanese cuisine. Menu items include robatayaki and yakitori skewers grilled on Binchontan charcoal, sushi and noodles. The restaurant is located at 1265 Washington Boulevard in the basement of the newly renovated Book Tower building.
Lafayette and American
While you’re in the city for the Detroit Auto Show, you take a side on the Detroit rivalry and decide who serves the better coney dog, Lafayette or American. The two Coney Islands are located next door to each other on West Lafayette.
Le Suprême
Le Suprême is a “Parisian-inspired brasserie offering exceptional French fare” according to its website. In addition to the French dishes, guests can get curated cocktails and choose from over 300 wines and champagnes to drink. It’s open daily for dinner and offers brunch on Saturday and Sunday. The restaurant is also located in the renovated Book Tower building. While at the Book Tower guests can check out Bar Rotunda in the lobby, Kamper’s, the rooftop bar that serves Spanish-influenced tapa, and Sazuki, a modern Japanese pub.
Parc
Parc is located at 800 Woodward Avenue and offers Midwest flavors with French and Mediterranean influences, according to its website. It has an extensive wine list and is set in a modern space in the heart of Campus Martius. It’s open daily and serves brunch, lunch and dinner along with a happy hour menu.
Sugah Please
Sugah Please is a bayou-inspired breakfast and brunch bar at 150 W. Jefferson Avenue. It opened in downtown Detroit in September and its menu offers dishes that include cinnamon roll French toast, gumbo, shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, omelettes and a variety of other brunch items. If you visit Sugah Please, you can show your auto show credentials for a 10% discount. It’s open 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Townhouse
Townhouse is located at 500 Woodward Avenue and offers modern American cuisine. It was renovated in 2021 and offers a chic setting for lunch and dinner, where guests can get beautiful cocktails and choose from a variety of entrees and shareables, which include crispy tuna rice, mac & cheese, blue crab beignets, grilled branzino, prime filet and more.
