Neighbors demand action over crashes at intersection in Northville Township

Neighbors say there’s been two crashes this week

NORTHVILLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Neighbors in Northville Township are calling attention to an intersection they say has too many crashes.

The intersection in question is at 7 Mile Road and Napier Road.

Neighbors living near the intersection say there have been two crashes in the past week.

“We’ve witnessed so many crashes because people will stop thinking it’s a 4-way stop, and then trucks and cars will just slam into them from behind,” Sarah of Northville Township said.

Residents shared photos of various crashes over the past year.

According to Michigan Traffic Crash Facts, there were 25 crashes at 7 Mile Road and Napier Road intersections between 2020 and 2023.

One neighbor said they called to complain and felt dismissed.

“(I was told) it’s a low-impact intersection compared to other ones in the area, so it’s not on our radar,” said Amber Boothby-Goesche.

Northville Township said the responsibility falls on the county.

Wayne County responded to Local 4, saying they plan to conduct a traffic study in the area.
