Detroit Lions’ ‘We Want More Tour’ bus driver has stories to share

‘Hurricane’ has been bringing Lions’ playoff experience to fans

DETROIT – The Detroit Lions’ “We Want More Tour” has been traveling across Michigan to create excitement across the state for the team’s playoff run.

The tour has made stops throughout the state, including in the Upper Peninsula, Detroit, and even Windsor. The guy behind the wheel is just as impressive. James Heathfield, who goes by “Hurricane,” has a whirlwind of stories.

For the past two weeks, Hurricane has been bringing the Lions’ playoff experience to fans all over Michigan. He said in East Lansing the crowd was around 1,500 people and in Midland they had almost 2,000 people come out.

He has been making three stops a day for two weeks. Thousands and thousands of fans standing in the freezing cold to be part of the Lions’ playoff run.

Heathfield was born and raised in the Detroit area. He used to be a marketing executive in the record label business. He said he worked with the Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Britney Spears. He said he learned to drive the bus when he was with the Backstreet Boys.
