Father of 14-month-old boy found dead inside Oakland County motel sentenced

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – The father of a 14-month-old boy who was found dead in a Farmington Hills motel in 2021 was sentenced.

Isaias Aurelio Porras was arrested and charged, along with the baby’s mother, in October 2021.

Officials said they were called to Motel 6 in the 38300 block of Grand River Avenue near Halsted Road around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2021, where relatives indicated concerns for 14-month-old Isaias Daniel Porras. The family of Amanda Jajou, the boy’s mother, was living in the motel at the time.

Officials said they found the 14-month-old dead inside the family’s room inside of the Motel 6.

Porras was charged with felony murder and first-degree child abuse.

Jajou was charged with second-degree murder, second-degree child abuse, and accessory after the crime. She was sentenced in 2024 to 15-60 years in prison.

Porras was sentenced on Jan. 16, 2025, to 15-70 years in prison.
