Detroit – The Detroit Fire Department is battling a blaze at the Lafayette Towers.

The fire occurred on Tuesday (Jan. 21) around 9 p.m. in the 1301 block of Orleans Street.

Officials say the fire was contained in one apartment and has since been extinguished.

One resident said they were having trouble breathing and were being checked out.
