Why residents in southern Michigan may see, hear fighter jets Wednesday morning

The 180th Fighter Wing in Ohio will be conducting an air defense exercise in the southern Michigan area Wednesday morning.

The Ohio Air National Guard said between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Jan. 22, 2025, people may hear or see fighter jets close to a Civil Air Patrol aircraft, which will be taking the role of a Track of Interest, for training purposes.

Metro Detroit hospitals see rise in frostbite, hypothermia, burns from fires

The extreme cold weather in Metro Detroit has led to increased health issues.

Henry Ford and Corewell health systems both reported that they’re seeing slip and falls, frostbite, and hypothermia cases.

The Detroit Medical Center has reported the same, but also burn injuries from fires used for warmth.

Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson announced that she will run for governor in 2026.
