Detroit Lions defensive line coach Terrell Williams is set to become the defensive coordinator for the New England Patriots, according to reports.

Williams previously worked for Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel, spending six seasons on Vrabel’s staff with the Tennessee Titans from 2018 to 2023, before he joined the Lions.

He then spent the 2024 season as the defensive line coach in Detroit.

The Detroit Lions are set to see significant staffing changes next season as team is also losing both of its coordinators.

Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson was hired to be the new head coach of the Chicago Bears and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn is leaving to become the head coach for the New York Jets, according to reports.

On Monday, Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell said that he expected to lose both coordinators to head coaching jobs.
