Police investigating break-in at elementary school in Macomb County

MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – Chesterfield police are investigating a break-in that happened at an elementary school early Monday morning.

Anchor Bay School District said someone broke into Great Oaks Elementary School during the early morning hours of Jan. 27, 2025. Video footage showed a person gaining unauthorized access to the building.

When police responded to the school after the district received a burglary alarm, officers found the male suspect on the school’s roof.

The suspect was taken into custody and is facing breaking and entering charges.

Chesterfield police will continue to investigate the incident.
