MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. – Madison Heights police are searching for the driver involved in the fatal hit-and-run of a pedestrian.

The incident occurred on Wednesday (Jan. 29) at 4:53 p.m. on southbound Dequindre Road north of 11 Mile Road.

Officials say the 68-year-old man was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene heading southbound.

Police investigation revealed that the man was waiting for the bus when a gold Toyota left the roadway and struck the pedestrian.

The 68-year-old was transported to Corewell Health/Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Madison Heights Police Department is looking for a 2003 Toyota Camry, gold in color, Michigan license plate #8QFV54, with expected front-end damage.
