OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – A 26-year-old Oakland County woman is a millionaire after her dad decided to gift her a lottery ticket “just because.”

The player, who decided to stay anonymous, won $4 million from a $150,000,000 Spectacular scratch-off ticket.

“My dad bought a $150,000,000 Spectacular instant game ticket and gave it to me,” the winner told the Michigan Lottery. “I was surprised when he handed it to me, and I asked him why he bought it for me. He said it was a ‘just because gift,’ which I thought was really nice of him.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Light House Liquor at 13651 West 9 Mile Road in Oak Park.

“When I scratched the ticket off, I was stunned to see that it was a $4 million winner,” the player said. “I had so many emotions going through my body. I screamed. I cried. I was and still am shocked I won $4 million.”

The 26-year-old recently claimed her prize as a one-time lump sum payment of $2.7 million and plans to save her winnings.

A $150,000 Spectacular ticket is $30 and gives players the chance to win prizes that range from $50 up to $4 million.
