Weather: Here’s when rain in Metro Detroit will change to snow on Friday
Grab an umbrella as you head out this morning and don’t forget a snow scraper for this afternoon. That’s because a change over to snow is expected late in the day, which could result in an inch or two accumulation, but that’s highly dependent on the timing of the changeover and I anticipate lesser amounts for most of Metro Detroit.
However, a band from Howell towards Port Huron likely gets the greater amounts due to the changeover happening sooner there. Meanwhile, rain becomes more widespread again by late morning.
We start to see the rain change to a wet snow from northwest to southeast between 1 p .m. to 4 p.m. After 4 p.m., we will be likely dealing with widespread snow as this pushes out of here late this evening. Temperatures slowly slide through the 30s as the day progresses.
