House fire in West Bloomfield Township leaves 3 children dead

Three children are dead after a house fire in West Bloomfield Township Sunday night.

The home in the 5000 block of Pembury Lane caught fire at around 8 p.m. on Feb. 2, 2025. A caller reported there were residents inside the home unable to get out.

USAID staffers told to stay out of Washington headquarters after Musk said Trump agreed to close it

Staffers of the U.S. Agency for International Development were instructed to stay out of the agency’s Washington headquarters on Monday, according to a notice distributed to them, after billionaire Elon Musk announced President Donald Trump had agreed with him to shut the agency.

USAID staffers said they also tracked more than 600 employees who reported being locked out of the agency’s computer systems overnight. Those still in the system received emails saying that “at the direction of Agency leadership” the headquarters building “will be closed to Agency personnel on Monday, Feb. 3.”

Ohio man found dead on I-75 after being struck by vehicle, police searching for driver responsible

Police are looking for the driver responsible for striking and killing a man on I-75 Sunday night and then driving away from the scene.

Authorities initially received calls about a man walking on the freeway on Feb. 2, 2025, at around 7:45 p.m. Moments later, another caller reported the man began running in the lanes of northbound I-75 near W Grand Boulevard.

More cloud cover will remain into the forecast looking ahead into early next week on Monday, high temperatures back into the middle 40s by the afternoon before a few breaks in the clouds moving in by Tuesday, along with colder temperatures. High temperatures heading for the lower 30s by Tuesday afternoon.
