WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. – Authorities are executing a search warrant at the Oakland County home where three children were killed in a house fire on Sunday night.
At 8 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025, dispatch received a 911 call from a resident at a home in the 5000 block of Pembury Lane who said the house was on fire and they couldn’t get outside, according to the West Bloomfield Police Department.
Police and fire officials responded to the house, and discovered three residents inside the house, a 16-year-old girl, a 15-year-old boy and a 12-year-old boy.
They were taken to local hospitals, where they died from their injuries.
Authorities say they are executing a search warrant at the house on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025, to “further investigate the circumstances surrounding this fire to determine to the greatest extent possible what happened.”
They will send their findings to the prosecutor’s office for review.
On Monday, the fire department told Local 4 there were no working smoking detectors inside the home.
The parents are cooperating with the investigation, according to police.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Alex Mutchler at 248-975-8938.
