Man allegedly threatens driver with plastic gun during road rage incident in Oakland County

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A man was arrested for allegedly threatening a driver with a plastic gun during a road rage incident in Oakland County.

On Feb. 2, 2025, a woman honked at a driver in a gold-colored car at the intersection of northbound Telegraph and Maple because the driver had cut her off.

Immediately after, a man in his 20s wearing a mask got out of the gold car with a gun and told the woman, “I’m going to take your life right now,” and “act like I won’t take your life right now.”

A witness and the woman the man threatened reported the incident to police and described the suspect.

On Feb. 4, 2025, Bloomfield Township police found the driver of the gold car, 23-year-old Mohamad Qasim Al-Amiri, at his home. Police recovered a black plastic handgun under the driver’s seat of the car.

Al-Amiri was arrested for the alleged assault then was arraigned on Wednesday. His bond was set at $10,000.
