Person hit by car on I-96 in Wayne County after getting out of crashed vehicle

WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – A person was hit by a car Friday morning after they got out of their crashed vehicle on I-96.

According to Livonia police, there was a two-car crash near eastbound I-96 and I-275 on Feb. 7, 2025. One of the passengers involved got out of their car and was walking to the grassy median.

Police said a car not involved in the original crash tried to swerve and avoid the scene but hit the passenger.

The person hit by the car was taken to a hospital for their injuries. Police said the passenger is expected to survive.
