“It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the tragic passing of one of our youth, a beloved member of our community of Dearborn and Dearborn Heights who was involved in a fatal accident last night. Our hearts go out to their family, friends, and all those affected by this heartbreaking loss.
At this time, we ask for privacy and respect for the grieving family as they navigate this unimaginable sorrow. We encourage our community to come together in support and remembrance of this young man by honoring his life and the positive impact he had on those around him.
We encourage all parents to have open, frank and ongoing conversations with your children about the dangers and consequences of reckless or distracted driving, speeding, and the importance of wearing seatbelts at all times. Consider setting clear expectations, such as limiting nighttime driving, and never using a cell phone while behind the wheel.
I would also like to thank the members of the Dearborn Heights and Dearborn police departments, along with the Michigan State Police for their hard work and professionalism with the handling of last night’s incident.
Thank you for your understanding and compassion during this difficult time Allah Yerhemo – may God have mercy upon his soul”.
