Teen pedestrian injured in West Bloomfield vehicle crash

Pedestrian sustained serious but, non-life-threatening injuries

WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. – A 16-year-old pedestrian has been injured in a West Bloomfield vehicle crash while she was crossing the street.

The crash occurred on Friday (Feb. 7) at 5:30 p.m. The West Bloomfield Police Department received a 911 call reporting the incident.

Officials said the vehicle was traveling southbound when it struck the 16-year-old girl who was walking eastbound across Orchard Lake Road near Indian Trail.

Police and fire personnel were immediately dispatched to the scene, where they provided emergency aid to the teenager.

She was swiftly transported to a Metro Detroit hospital.

According to the preliminary investigation, the teen sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the incident is cooperating with the investigation.

Authorities are continuing to gather information to understand the circumstances surrounding the accident.
