Police chase ends with 3 arrested in St. Clair County retail fraud scheme

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Mich. – Three relatives have been arrested in St. Clair County for organized retail fraud after attempting to flee from law enforcement.

The arrests occurred on Sunday, (Feb. 2) at 3:30 p.m. at Dunham’s on 24th Avenue. According to police, the suspects fled the store and left in a gold 2007 Cadillac Escalade.

Deputies patrolling the area soon located the vehicle traveling westbound on Keewahdin Road.

The vehicle stopped in the middle of North Road, but as deputies began to exit their vehicles, the Escalade took off again. The driver led authorities on a chase, heading south on North Road, onto Wadhams Road, and then onto eastbound I-69.
