Learn home heating, carbon monoxide safety tips from Detroit Fire Department

DETROIT – The Detroit Fire Department is hosting a webinar on Wednesday to show tips on home heating and carbon monoxide safety.

According to the fire department, Detroit saw 73 residential fires and one death as a result of alternative heating sources in 2024.

Fire officials said most deadly fires are from improper use of alternate heating sources, and carbon monoxide risks are greater in winter when windows and doors are closed.
