Man killed, woman injured in single-vehicle crash in Leanwee County

LENAWEE COUNTY, Mich. – A man was killed and a woman was injured in a single-vehicle crash in Lenawee County.

Michigan State Police said the crash happened at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, on the US 223 Highway near Woerner Road in Rome Township. A white Dodge Grand Caravan was traveling east on US 223 when it left the road and struck a tree.

The driver, a 29-year-old man from Waldron, was killed in the crash. A 27-year-old woman from Waldron, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was transported to an area hospital where her injuries are being treated.

The highway was closed for several hours while Michigan State Police investigated the crash. At this time, police believe alcohol was a factor.
