Monroe police join forces with federal agencies to arrest ATM theft suspect out of state

MONROE COUNTY, Mich. – Monroe police joined forces with federal agencies to arrest a suspect concerning the theft from the Monroe County Credit Union ATM.

Officials said the theft occurred on Jan. 18 at 715 N. Telegraph Road in Monroe County.

Police said that the efforts of their road patrol and detectives, combined with evidence gathered from the scene, Flock Camera systems, and surveillance footage from nearby businesses, allowed investigators to identify the suspect, which led to their arrest in Chicago, IL, last week.

Officials said the suspect is being held at the Monroe County Jail, where they’re facing charges of safe cracking, which is a life offense.

Police said they are still working to identify the other suspect(s) that were involved in the theft.
