DETROIT – Authorities have arrested and charged two men believed to be involved in a large southeast Michigan vehicle theft ring.
The two are accused of stealing more than 25 Dodge Durango SUVs from dealerships in Macomb, Oakland and Genesee counties.

The investigation began in November 2024.
David Franklin, 41, was arrested in Houston, Texas, on Jan. 31 and extradited to Michigan. Barron Hatcher Jr., 24, was arrested Jan. 30 in Farmington Hills.
They were both charged with conducting a criminal enterprise and possession of burglary tools. Franklin’s bond was set at $1 million, and Hatcher’s was $500,000.
Both men remain lodged at the Macomb County Jail.
