Kinloch joins what’s shaping up to be a crowded race

DETROIT – Reverand Solomon Kinloch, Jr. announced his campaign for Detroit mayor.

Kinloch, who currently heads Triumph Church, which has several locations across Metro Detroit, announced on Wednesday (Feb. 19) night.

Kinloch says that if he becomes mayor, one of his first acts will be expanding access to affordable and healthy food choices across the city.

“I plan on building 10 strategically locator grocery stores and ending the food desert in Detroit forever,” said Kinloch.

Kinloch joins what’s shaping up to be a crowded race. Those who have declared so far include:

  • Current City Council President Mary Sheffield,
  • Former City Council President Saunteel Jenkins,
  • Current councilman Fred Durhal,
  • and Attorney Todd Perkins.
