Woman dies after crashing into gravel hauler, dragged about 750 feet on I-75 (MDOT)

A woman died after a crash on I-75 near Woodward Heights Boulevard early Thursday morning.

Michigan State Police said a woman was driving a Jeep Compass on northbound I-75 on Feb. 20, 2025, at around 6:40 a.m. when she lost control and began to spin into the path of a gravel hauler also traveling northbound on the freeway.

The gravel hauler struck the woman’s car on the driver’s side and pushed it about 750 feet before being able to stop.

Police said the woman died at the scene. The gravel hauler driver was not hurt.

According to Michigan State Police, the woman’s family has not been notified because they are still trying to reach them from out of state.
