In a post on social media, the restaurant said the closure is due to financial challenges that have made operations unsustainable.

They went on to express gratitude toward the community that supported it.

“We’ve cherished being a part of your lives,” they wrote. “Whether it was for a quick lunch, a first date, a birthday celebration, or simply a place where you always knew you’d find a delicious meal and a familiar face.”

The restaurant’s location in Ann Arbor will remain open. A cookbook featuring recipes from Seva can be purchased online.

Seva Detroit is located at 66 East Forest Avenue.
