DETROIT – Amazon MGM has released its first trailer for an upcoming Michigan-based thriller starring Nicole Kidman, Gael Garcia Bernal and Matthew Macfadyen.
“Holland,” takes place (and was partially filmed) in Holland, Michigan, a city known for its Dutch heritage, the Tulip Time Festival, its many churches, the Big Red Lighthouse, not needing snowplows and the world’s largest pickle factory.
Holland’s iconic windmill and the Tulip Time festival both pop up in the trailer, although there are no signs of the pickle factory making an appearance.
The upcoming thriller film follows Kidman, a teacher living in Holland who uncovers a dark and violent secret. The movie’s script appeared on the 2013 Blacklist, a list of the most liked, but unfilmed scripts.
“Every day, I get to wake up in the best place on earth: Holland, Michigan,” Kidman says in the opening of the trailer.
Holland will premiere at the 2025 South by Southwest Festival before a wide release March 27 on Amazon Prime.
