Police are searching for a suspect who was involved in the non-fatal shooting of a 54-year-old man in Sterling Heights. (KPRC)

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. – Police are searching for a suspect who was involved in the non-fatal shooting of a 54-year-old man in Sterling Heights.

The shooting occurred on Tuesday (Feb. 25) at 6:30 p.m.

Officials say the 54-year-old man from Detroit drove himself away from the scene after being shot.

Police say the man was later located at 19 Mile and Mound roads at a gas station where it was confirmed he had been shot once.

The man was given medical treatment and transported to a Metro Detroit hospital for treatment, where he is listed in stable condition.

The Sterling Heights Police Department says they’re utilizing all resources to identify and locate the suspect involved in the shooting.
