AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – Two people are dead after an apparent murder-suicide at a hotel in Auburn Hills Friday night.
Police responded to the Holiday Inn Express off Baldwin Road at around 10:45 p.m. on March 7 for a report of a possible domestic violence incident.

When officers arrived at the scene, they heard two gunshots while approaching the room. When they entered, they found a 34-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man dead. They also found a 3-year-old girl unharmed.
Police later identified the woman killed as Jackie Jo Torrez from Saginaw and the man as Marcus Isaiah Taylor from Vassar.
The 3-year-old was taken to a hospital out of an abundance of caution and was then released to a family member.
We are deeply saddened by the tragic events that unfolded in our community Friday night, resulting in the loss of life in the homicide-suicide incident. Our hearts go out to the victim and her family during this incredibly difficult time.
