The investigation began on Feb. 2, 2025, when Shelby Township police responded to a report of a home invasion. The investigation was then turned over to the Special Investigations Unit.

Detectives began in-depth research of Ring cameras and other security videos provided by residents in the area and established a description of the suspects.

Detectives then learned through social media that the suspects were targeting Chaldean homes.

After follow-up leads, detectives were able to identify the suspects—Moncivais and Awadish.

Detectives tied Moncivais to five different home invasions: Three in Shelby Township, one in Sterling Heights and one in Clinton Township.

Police said Awadish was allegedly the driver of the car involved in the incidents.

The two were arrested on March 11, 2025. When law enforcement conducted a search warrant at their home, they found several items of clothing. They said this further tied the two to multiple home invasions.

Moncivais was charged with two counts of second-degree home invasion and two counts of third-degree home invasion. He was given a $500,000 cash/surety bond.

Awadish was charged with two counts of second-degree home invasion and one count of third-degree home invasion. She was given a $250,000 cash/surety bond.
