DETROIT – The two bodies that were found in the basement of a home by a woman have been identified by Detroit police.
The incident occurred on Tuesday (March 11) at 5:25 p.m. when police said Dwayne Pinkston, 60, and Babara Jack, 68, were discovered in the 8700 block of Desoto Street.

Detectives are searching for leads by sharing the victims' photos after the discovery.
A woman living at the home found Pinkston and Jack. She had left for about an hour and returned to find her door locked.
“When she entered, she observed a Jane Doe at the bottom of the basement step, obviously deceased. She retreated, 911 was called. Officers made the location after being advised by what she had told them. They entered the location and were looking for additional victims. When they went into the location, they observed a Jane Doe, a black male, in the basement, obviously deceased,”
said Detroit police Deputy Chief Jacqueline Pritchett
Police said they found a Black woman at the bottom of the basement steps and a Black man deceased in the basement of the home.
Currently, there is no known motive, suspect, or vehicle information related to the incident.
Pritchett is urging the public to come forward with any information that could assist in the investigation.
She says the police department is seeking the public’s help to uncover what happened to the victims and to bring justice to their families.
