INKSTER, Mich. – An 82-year-old man from Inkster made a mistake on a popular shopping website that may end up costing him more than $10,000.
Jenell Mock said her father is in poor health and was looking for a new coat when he found the auction on Poshmark.
“I knew that was just totally accidental because it’s a small ladies jacket, so he wouldn’t have wanted that,” Mock said. “And then he wouldn’t have wanted to spend $10,000 on something that was only being you know sold for like $150.”
He instantly knew something was wrong, but the seller thought she’d made the sale of a lifetime.
Mock and her father have spent the last few weeks battling to get their money back.
“It’s been very stressful because we’re waiting to see what could come of it,” Mock said. “Whether Poshmark is going to help us, whether his credit card is going to reverse the charge. He’s lost quite a bit of sleep over it.”
Help Me Hank reached out to Poshmark and the company said they’re working to resolve the situation and are working to get in touch with the customer. If that doesn’t work, the attention will be turned to the credit card company in hopes of reversing the charge.
