Popular chocolate bars sold across US recalled after consumers find small stones in them

Tony’s Chocolonely issues recall on some products

Specific batches of the Tony's Chocolonely Dark Almond Sea Salt and Everything Bar chocolate bars have been recalled over the risk they may contain small stones. (FDA)

A popular chocolate bar brand is recalling some of its products because they might contain small stones, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced.

Tony’s Chocolonely Inc. has voluntarily recalled seven lots of the Tony’s brand Dark Almond Sea Salt Bar (6.35oz) and Everything Bar (6.35oz).

The recalled products have the following lot codes and best by dates:

Tony’s Chocolonely Dark Chocolate Almond Sea Salt

  • Lot code: 163094; Best by date: 2-Apr-26; UPC: 858010005641
  • Lot code: 162634; Best by date: 28-Feb-26; UPC: 858010005641
  • Lot code: M162634; Best by date: 28-Feb-26; UPC: 850011828908

According to the FDA, 12 consumers reported “finding small stones in the product not filtered during third-party almond harvesting and the almond processing process.”

All the complaints were made outside of North America, and no injuries have been reported.

The recalled chocolate bars were distributed across the U.S. from Feb. 7, 2025, and March 24, 2025, and sold in retail stores.

Other Tony’s products are not impacted by this recall.

Anyone who purchased the affected product is advised not to consume it. Consumers can return the product to the store where they purchased it for a replacement or refund.
