ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Mich. – A 17-year-old girl was seriously injured in a crash in Casco Township, according to the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office.

St. Clair County Central Dispatch received reports of a crash just before 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025, from the intersection of Gratiot Avenue and Division Road in Casco Township. Witnesses reported that the driver of a vehicle involved in the crash was trapped.

The sheriff’s office said investigators determined that a 17-year-old Richmond girl traveling eastbound on Division Road in a 2016 Jeep Cherokee failed to yield to a southbound 2009 Ford F-150, striking the truck in the driver’s door.

The 17-year-old girl was transported to an area hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries.

The Ford was being driven by a 32-year-old Lenox woman. There were two passengers in the truck: a 39-year-old man and a 2-year-old girl. Nobody in the truck was injured.

The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, Richmond Police, Richmond / Lenox EMS, and the Richmond Fire Department responded to the crash.

Police do not believe that alcohol, drugs, or speed are factors in the crash. The St. Clair County Crash Investigation Team is investigating.
