Most popular beer in each state

Afterall, it’s national beer day and to stay on topic, I thought I would figure out what kinds of beer Americans like in their glass.

According to Food & Wine, data analysts at Coffeeness combed through YouGov and Google Trends data for every U.S. state to determine the most popular beers. The study didn’t consider beer sales or consumption metrics, rather it reflects what Americans are searching for, and they have one thing on their minds: Miller Brewing Company.

According to the report, Miller snagged the interest in 30 states, making it the most-searched beer in the nation.

Eight states, including Texas, California and Michigan are most interested in the Molson Coors Beverage Company.

Southerners in Georgia and South Carolina have a high interest in Guinness. The Irish stout was a popular search term in New Jersey, where it similarly became the top-searched brew.

Over in the northeast, their tastebuds range from Budweiser, Miller, Budlight, Corona, and Coors.

Best beer city in Michigan

The results may surprise you but for the fifth consecutive year, Grand Rapids has been awarded the best beer city in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards. Turns out, the Midwest town has more than 80+ breweries – that’s equivalent to finding a beer on every corner or within walking distance from each other.

Grand Rapids is perhaps most widely known by craft enthusiasts as the headquarters of Founders Brewing Company, which got its start in 1997. The city is full of craft breweries worth popping into like the New Holland Brewing Company, Grand Rapids Brewing Company and the Founders Brewing Company. You can check off breweries each time you explore the city by following the Beer City Ale Trail – a popular route for those looking to get a taste of what everybody is talking about.

If you’re a beer enthusiast, you may have what it takes to become a Beer City Brewsader. The Beer City Brewsader app lets brewsaders check into any eight of the 30+ participating breweries and you can earn a collectible t-shirt or become an Ultimate Brewsader and earn points for the Grand Rapids Store.
