HIGHLAND PARK, Mich.Highland Park Boys and Girls Clubs will have a new place to play and learn.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan held its ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday (April 7) for the newly renovated Hiram E-Jackson Club.

The $2 million renovations add some new attractions, including a music studio, an E-Sports lounge, a commercial kitchen, and more.

Boys & Girls Club CEO Shawn Wilson says the improvements will strengthen surrounding communities.

“We’ve been around nearly 100 years, and if you really put that into perspective, that means we’ve been here during the Great Depression, world wars, COVID, you name it.

And each of those moments, we’ve found a way to contribute and support the community.

Whatever the community and the youth needed during those challenging times, the Boys & Girls Club was there to meet it.”

said Shawn Wilson, President/CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan
