Tragic discovery: 3 bodies found in burning car on Detroit’s west side, including 9-year-old girl

Victims have been identified in a tragic and disturbing case on Detroit’s west side.

Police discovered three bodies inside a burning car early Sunday (April 6) morning, revealing that one of the victims is a 9-year-old girl.

Detroit police confirmed that the victims are connected to a man who was taken into custody shortly after the bodies were found.

Southfield supermarket destroyed by early morning fire

Crews battled a fully engulfed fire in Southfield early Tuesday morning.

Plum Hollow Market on 9 Mile at Lahser caught fire at around 1:15 a.m. on April 8.

Man arrested in 1989 rape, murder of mother in Washtenaw County appearing in court

The man accused of abducting, sexually assaulting and murdering Beverly Wivell over 35 years ago is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.

Buster Robbins was charged for the rape and murder of Wivell.

Wivell was found dead on the side of the road in Superior Township in September 1989.

Novi proposes $120M bond to update outdated emergency response facilities

The city of Novi hopes to educate the public about an upcoming bond proposal that voters can approve or deny this August.

The reality is Novi has seen tremendous growth over the last couple of decades, and therefore, so have their emergency response teams, but crews tell me their facilities are made for what life used to look like here in Novi, and that’s not cutting it.

Weather: Sunshine & a few snowflakes for Metro Detroit on Tuesday; chilly temperatures stick around

After some sunshine working throughout the day on Monday, we will see a little more sunshine move into the forecast looking ahead into our Tuesday, but with a few snowflakes possible as well.

A northwesterly flow will kick in as we work throughout our Tuesday, and this will keep us on the chilly side of the forecast with high temperatures for some of us struggling to get out of the 30s to right around 40 degrees. As we work into the afternoon and early evening hours, we will also see the chance of a few snowflakes move into the region as well, so don’t be surprised to see the flakes fly in some places today.
