FLINT, Mich. – A Flint man was convicted of multiple felonies in connection with the 2022 sexual assault of a child, officials said.

A jury found Stokes King Tiggs, 37, guilty of kidnapping, first-degree criminal sexual conduct, second-degree criminal sexual conduct, criminal sexual conduct with intent of sexual penetration, accosting a child for immoral purposes and aggravated indecent exposure, according to Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton.

The assault happened in the summer of 2022 at the Travel Inn on Dort Highway in Flint.

Testimony during the trial revealed that Tiggs forcefully held a child under 13 against a wall and sexually assaulted them.

Another juvenile who was in the room at the time of the assault later told adults what happened, which led police to investigate.

According to the release, some of the evidence revealed in the trial included another 2005 sexual assault that involved a child who is now dead.

In addition, search warrants on Tiggs’ tablet showed that he searched on YouTube for how to give an 8-year-old body massages and for laws in other countries related to marrying children.

“Stokes King Tiggs is a dangerous individual who sexually preys on others, especially young people,” said Leyton. “Thanks to the hard work of my staff, the police, and the jury, he will be sentenced to prison for a very long time and will no longer be a danger to our community.”

Tiggs is scheduled to be sentenced on April 29. He faces up to life in prison.

He also previously served five years in prison in another criminal sexual conduct case, and has four more felonies pending, including kidnapping and criminal sexual conduct.
