ALLEN PARK, Mich. – Two people are dead, and four others were seriously injured after a crash in Allen Park Tuesday night.
Police responded to the intersection of Ecorse Road and Pelham Road on April 8 just before 11 p.m. after receiving a report of an SUV on fire and a sedan had struck a nearby building.
When officers arrived, they learned the sedan was struck by an SUV and was pushed into a building near the 19000 block of Ecorse Road.
There were two women in the sedan. Police said the front passenger in this car was conscious and breathing and was responding to officers. The driver, a 20-year-old Allen Park woman, was not conscious and breathing. The 20-year-old died at the scene.
Additional officers arrived and began helping the people in the burning SUV. Three passengers were able to get out of the car and were lying on the ground. The driver of the SUV was unconscious and trapped in the SUV. Firefighters put out the flames and found a man burned in the car. He died at the scene.
All passengers were taken to a local hospital and are all in critical condition. Allen Park police are not releasing the names of the victims or passengers involved out of respect for the families.
The investigation is ongoing. Detectives are working on getting surveillance of the crash.
