PORT HURON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Two people, including the mother of a 3-year-old boy who was murdered seven years ago in St. Clair County, have been charged with murder in connection with his death.
Matthew Maison, of Port Huron Township, was found dead in February 2018. More than seven years passed, and despite widespread community interest in the case, there hadn’t been any arrests.
That changed Friday, when Amanda Maison, the boy’s mother, and Maurice Houle were taken into custody. They are both charged with first-degree murder.

Deputies with the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office said the arrests came after “significant recent developments.”
Maison, 33, and Houle, 28, are being held at the St. Clair County Detention and Intervention Center.
They are scheduled to be arraigned around 1 p.m. Monday, April 14. Local 4 will be at the arraignment and will have updates during and after those proceedings.
