Here’s the 2025 Michigan summer weather outlook

Temperature, precipitation outlook for summer months in Michigan

Summer 2025 Temperature Outlook (WDIV)

After a chilly start, it looks like April will end with warm weather as the 6 to 10 and 8 to 14-day outlooks call for above-average temps for the Great Lakes. The May outlook isn’t quite as interesting with an equal chance of warmer than normal and cooler than normal temps. Precipitation might run slightly above average for just a tiny sliver of southeast lower Michigan.

What about summer? We have two resources, the National Weather Service Outlook and the good ol’ farmer’s almanac. A “sultry and thunderstorm-filled summer” is what the almanac is predicting for the Great Lakes down into the Ohio Valley. The almanac also thinks storms will make for a bummer 4th of July.

While the Farmer’s Almanac is a bit more entertaining, the National Weather Service is a bit more prudent. The Summer Outlook for temps predicts a 33-40% chance of above normal temps. The summer solstice begins June 20th.
