DETROIT – The City of Detroit Parks and Recreation Division’s Easter Fun Fest returns on Saturday with a “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” theme.
Easter Fun Fest is taking place from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Lasky Recreation Center, 13200 Fenelon St. Detroit, MI 48212.
The event will include a giveaway of 200 bikes, giveaway of at least 500 Easter baskets, carnival rides, an Easter egg hunt, pony rides, a petting zoo, arts and crafts, a circus, dry vendors and resources.
“We know Detroit families look forward to this free celebration year after year and we’re committed to making each year better than the last,” said Crystal Perkins, City of Detroit General Services Department Director. “We hope to see familiar and new faces making lifetime memories with us this Easter Weekend.”
This year there will be food trucks with Willy Wonka-themed menus and kiddie menus, Oompa Loompa sack races, Wacky Wonka’s 2-legged races and Putt-Putt sponsored by Rocket Mortgage.

Public parking is available with a free shuttle service on a continuous loop. The public parking locations are:
- Jayne Field—off Charles St., across from Justine Ave.
- Jayne Field—off Luce St., across from Eureka St.
- Detroit Library Knapp Branch —13330 Conant St.
