Alleged domestic dispute leads to fatal stabbing of 52-year-old man in Redford

Officials said the victim and the suspect had a prior domestic relationship

REDFORD, Mich. – A 52-year-old man from Redford was found with a single stab wound to his chest in an alleged domestic dispute.

The stabbing occurred in the area of Cathedral Street and Wormer Street on Thursday (April 24) at 12:15 a.m.

Police said a 47-year-old woman was identified as the suspect, and after a search warrant was executed on her home in Eastpointe at 8 a.m., she was taken into custody without incident.

Officials said the victim and the suspect had a prior domestic relationship, and the stabbing occurred during a physical altercation between them.

Criminal charges will be sought from the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.
